Ronaldo Nazario de Lima, commonly known as Ronaldo or R9, was born on September 18, 1976, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He grew up in a poor neighborhood and started playing soccer at a young age. Ronaldo's natural talent and exceptional skills caught the attention of several scouts, and he was eventually signed by the Brazilian club Cruzeiro.
